What do I get with a Full Access membership?
Full Access includes unlimited access to Matthew Hartz’s tune library, which features step-by-step videos for fiddle and guitar, with lessons tailored for intermediate and advanced players.
What’s included in the Hartz Mentorship plan?
In addition to Full Access, the Mentorship plan includes a private 1-hour monthly lesson with Matthew, personalized coaching and direct feedback.
When does my access start?
Immediately after your payment is processed. You’ll receive confirmation by email and instant access to the content based on your membership level.
If I cancel my membership, do I lose access immediately?
No — your access continues until the end of your current billing period. You won’t be charged again after that unless you re-subscribe.
Can I get a refund if I cancel early?
No refunds are offered. However, if you're on the 6-Month or Yearly plan and upgrade early, any remaining time will be applied as account credit toward the new subscription.
Can I upgrade my membership before it expires?
Yes. When upgrading from a 6-month or yearly plan, any unused time will be credited toward your new plan. You can upgrade at any time.
How is account credit calculated if I switch from a prepaid plan?
If you switch from a prepaid plan (like the 6-month or yearly membership) to another plan before your term ends, the unused portion of your current plan will be converted into a credit and applied toward your new subscription. Refunds are not offered—only prorated credit.

Example: If you purchased a yearly plan ($540) and decided to join the Hartz Mentorship after 5 months, your remaining 7 months (roughly $315 in unused value) would be applied as a credit. Your first mentorship lesson ($175) would be fully covered by the credit, and your second lesson would use the remaining balance of $140 so would only cost you $35. After that, billing would resume at the regular $175/month rate.
Can I downgrade my membership?
Only after your current term ends. For example, if you want to downgrade from the Yearly subscription to the Monthly plan, you'll need to cancel your Yearly subscription sometime before your renewal date. Once your term ends, your account will automatically revert to the Free Access membership, at which point you can choose your preferred membership level.

All downgrades for Hartz Mentorship members will be discussed directly with Matthew during your one-on-one session to ensure a smooth transition.
Are the 6-month and yearly plans recurring?
Yes — both plans are recurring and will automatically renew at the end of each term. If you don’t want to be charged again, you must cancel before your renewal date. After canceling, you’ll retain access for the remainder of your current term.
Can I pause my subscription?
No, subscriptions cannot be paused. If you need to take a break, we recommend canceling your subscription before your next renewal date. You can always rejoin when you're ready.
